Announcements

  • We will be taking a few weeks off from FIPRP Weeklies for the summer break. We hope to see you when we resume!
  • Reminders:
    • Uconn-ARMS has announced the Harms and Benefits Inventory (HBI) data release! This release includes data from Wave 1 (collected in 2022) and Wave 2 (collected in 2024). You can read more and access the data here.
    • SAVIR has some great resources on their Injury and Violence Prevention Teaching Resource Hub. It's a great place to brush up on principles and foundational aspects of the public health field. 
    • The UW Health Sciences Library is offering an in-person workshop Getting Started with Review Methods and Resources, an introduction to the basics of systematic and scoping reviews. It will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Find more information (including location) and register here. 
    • Sandy Hook Promise is hiring for a couple of key new positions! Read more about the roles for the Manager, Research and Evaluation and Associate Vice President, Innovation, and please spread the word to your networks!

Opportunities

UW is planning to offer post-doctoral training in Pediatric Injury Research, with positions becoming available for summer/fall, 2025. This training program is funded through a US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) T-32 grant. Applications received by August 1  will be given the highest priority. Read more here .

The department of Pediatrics at Indiana University is looking to fill a postdoctoral fellowship position in gun violence research. More information about the position and how to apply can be found here .

  • FIPRP has a SharePoint that we are hoping will help facilitate the sharing of resources. We currently have a methods folder which includes resources and guidance on topics like data visualization, qualitative methods, and survey methods among other resources for FIPRP outreach.
