Announcements

  • The American Journal of Epidemiology (AJE) is now accepting submissions for a special collection on Latino Health. Read more about the call for papers in English or Spanish. 

  • On April 24 at 10 AM PT, Kaiser Permanente Center for Gun Violence Research and Education will host an informational webinar about their 2025 Funding Opportunity. A link to a recording of the webinar will be made available to those who cannot attend. Read more about this event and register here.

  •  American Public Health Association (APHA) is currently accepting applications for the 2025 cycle of the National Violent Death Reporting System New Investigator Research Award. This opportunity is geared toward emerging researchers/investigators to promote innovative and quality analysis of violent death data collected by the NVDRS. The deadline for this opportunity is April 21st . Read more and apply here! 

  • As a reminder, on Monday, April 14th, all ITHS REDCap admin support will be suspended. This means loss of ALL REDCap functionality that typically requires administrative approval, including creating new projects, duplicating projects, and editing instruments for projects that have entered production mode. Please see this notice for more details and discuss your plans to safeguard your projects with your PIs, mentors, and collaborators as soon as possible.

  • Please reach out to Sam Banks (sbanks94@uw.edu) if you have any new firearm-related publications and/or conversations with the media, reporters, community partners, or policymakers in an article so it can be listed on the FIPRP website.
  • FIPRP has a SharePoint that we are hoping will help facilitate the sharing of resources. We currently have a methods folder which includes resources and guidance on topics like data visualization, qualitative methods, and survey methods among other resources for FIPRP outreach. If you would like access or would like to contribute resources, please email Sam Banks at sbanks94@uw.edu.
