Announcements

  • Congratulations to Dr. Elizabeth Weybright and her co-investigator, Dr. Ashley Hall, who are receiving a grant of $32,000 from Grandmothers Against Gun Violence Foundation (GAGVF) to support their project, “We get access from our parents: Firearm Safety Practices of Rural Families in Washington State.” 
  • Dr. Fred Rivara was mentioned in a recent New York Times article titled "In Homes With Children, Even Loaded Guns Are Often Left Unsecured". Read the full article here.
  • Dr. Ali Rowhani-Rahbar participated in a Q&A as part of Gun Violence Awareness Month where he discussed extreme risk protection orders (ERPOs) and how a new grant is helping to study them. Read the full interview here.
  • Learn about the importance of safe firearm storage and get a free lock box or trigger box at the Safe Firearm Storage Giveaway hosted by Port of Support at 29th Ave. S & S 221st St., Des Moines, WA from 3:00-7:30pm on June 22nd. 
  • Mark your calendars for the upcoming FIPRP Summer Picnic hosted by the Community Team on July 12th from 2-5pm. Please help us choose a location and get a headcount by filling out this form.

  • FIPRP has a SharePoint that we are hoping will help facilitate the sharing of resources. We currently have a methods folder which includes resources and guidance on topics like data visualization, qualitative methods, and survey methods among other resources for FIPRP outreach.
