Announcements

  • As discussed in Wednesday morning's WIP, the structure of this time together will be changing. This time, to be renamed "FIPRP Weekly," will now have a rotating format on a four-week schedule.
    • Week 1 will be for connection and relationship-building.
    • Week 2 will have a traditional "WIP" format.
    • Week 3 will review available data sets.
    • Week 4 will involve updates from FIPRP Team Leads.
    • We hope this flexible structure will allow for a more informal space that will facilitate connection, as well as to reduce burden of preparation for presenters. If you are interested in being a presenter for the traditional WIP (Week 2) or for data sets (Week 3), please reach out to Kelsey Conrick (kmc621@uw.edu) and Sam Banks (sbanks94@uw.edu).
  • Seattle Children's is hosting a Safe Firearm Storage Giveaway on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10 AM - 1 PM PT in Fife, WA. The event will provide training on how to use a lock box or trigger lock, and will provide one free lock box or trigger lock per person. To read more about the event, please see the flyer for more information.
  • The National Collaborative on Gun Violence Research is hosting a series of webinars highlighting recent insights into gun violence prevention. Dr. Julie Kafka will be providing a ground-breaking new assessment of IPV’s contribution to violent deaths in the United States on Tuesday, June 4th at 3 PM ET. This study reveals that almost 10 percent of homicides, police shootings and suicides can be linked to IPV dynamics. For more information about the webinar or to register for the event, please visit the NCGVR website.
