- Two of our FIPRP members were recently awarded for their outstanding research: Dr. Julie Kafka was awarded a NVDRS New Investigator Research Award from the American Public Health Association (APHA) and Dr. Fred Rivara was selected for the Excellence in Violence & Injury Prevention Science Award from the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR). Congratulations to Dr. Kafka and Dr. Rivara!
- Dr. Elizabeth Weybright was featured on NPR this week! You can read or listen to the story here: Teaching Children Gun Safety to Curb Gun Violence.
- The Washington State Department of Health is hosting two regional workshops to collaborate on updating the State Suicide Prevention Plan. The Western Washington workshop will be held on April 19 from 11 AM - 4:45 PM PT at the Tukwila Community Center in Tukwila, WA. The Eastern Washington workshop will be held on May 1 from 11 AM - 4:45 PM PT at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. There will also be a Town Hall held from 5:30-7 PM on each day of the workshops. To read more about the workshops and/or register for the event(s), please click here.
- The University of Pennsylvania Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and Penn Injury Science Center are hosting a virtual seminar, titled "Evidence-Driven Approaches to Preventing Firearm Deaths", on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 12-1 PM ET. The seminar will feature a panel of experts, including FIPRP Director Dr. Ali Rowhani-Rahbar. Click here to register for the event.

- FIPRP has a SharePoint that we are hoping will help facilitate the sharing of resources. We currently have a methods folder which includes resources and guidance on topics like data visualization, qualitative methods, and survey methods among other resources for FIPRP outreach.
