  • June is Gun Violence Awareness Month and National Gun Violence Awareness Day is observed today, June 7th. Below are upcoming events taking place in Seattle this June to honor the occasion:
    • Lockbox giveaways are happening in multiple locations today starting at 9am. Read more about specific locations and times here
    • Find a Wear Orange Weekend (June 7-9) event near you: https://act.everytown.org/event/wear-orange-weekend/search/
    • The Grandmothers Against Gun Violence (GAGV) Diversity and Partnerships Team is hosting a free webinar on June 11th, 2024 from 1:00-2:00pm. The webinar is titled "Community Conversations: Gun Violence Prevention - an Urgent Public Health Matter" and will highlight the voices/perspectives of several panelists.     • Show Up, Grandmothers Against Gun Violence (Friday, June 14th from 3:00-4:00pm): Join us on the 14th of each month as we Show Up as a visible reminder of the need for gun safety, to bring attention to the gun violence epidemic, and to demand safe gun legislation. Hosted at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Ave S and Rainier Ave S pedestrian/bike overpass.

  • FIPRP participated in a safe firearm storage device giveaway in Fife, WA this past weekend where 437 safe storage devices were distributed! See the LinkedIn post for more information and a photo of the event.

  • FIPRP has a SharePoint that we are hoping will help facilitate the sharing of resources. We currently have a methods folder which includes resources and guidance on topics like data visualization, qualitative methods, and survey methods among other resources for FIPRP outreach. If you would like access or would like to contribute resources, please email Sam Banks at sbanks94@uw.edu.
